Odstrchel Commits to Kent State
ADVANCEMENT
With the offseason just getting underway, veteran defenseman, Brian Odstrchel, becomes the second member of the 2021-22 roster to make his college hockey plans official. Odstrchel will be staying in the Buckeye state as he starts his collegiate career as he has committed to play ACHA Division 1 hockey for Kent State University, starting in the 2022-23 season.
The Norwood, MA native recently completed his third season of USPHL hockey and his first season with the Mavericks. In 132 career USPHL games with the Mavericks, Pittsburgh Vengeance, and Boston Junior Bruins, Odstrchel amassed 12 goals and 34 assists for 45 career points, 28 of which came with the Mavericks.
Kent State University, located in Northeast Ohio, competes at the ACHA Division 1 level and are members of the CHMA conference. As he starts his freshman season next fall, Odstrchel will join fellow current Maverick, Alex Toth as well as Maverick alum, Mitch Gillespie, who is currently a red shirt freshman with the Golden Flashes.
