Mavs Top the Cyclones on the Road

CINCINNATI, OH - Following the excitement their overtime victory the night before, the Mavs hit the road to take on the Cincinnati Cyclones in their first of seven matchups this season. As the game got under way, the Cyclones jumped out to an early lead, scoring a pair of goals in the first 3 minutes of the first period. The Mavericks would respond in kind with a pair of goals to tie the game before the first intermission. The Mavs' first goal was scored by Joe Shevetz at the 9:29 mark with an assist from Brandon Kididis, while the second was an unassisted goal scored by Jack Hamilton at the 14:10 mark.
Hunter Gentz would give the Mavs their first lead of the game with a goal at the 9:50 mark in the second period, assisted by Tryston Harrell. The Cyclones would again tie the game at the 13:40 mark, but the Mavs would regain the lead going into the second intermission as Jack Hamilton would score his second goal of the game, assisted by Tryston Harrell.
The third period was all Mavericks as they secured the victory with a pair of goals scored by Joe Shevetz at the 0:44 mark, assisted by Hunter Gentz and Brandon Kididis, and Tryston Harrell at the 10:33 mark, assisted by Leo Harris.
Garrett Ambrose picked up the first win of his junior career, stopping 23 of 26 shots on the night.
