The Columbus Mavericks ownership group announced Tuesday morning that veteran broadcaster, Gero von Dehn has been hired as the new HockeyTV Voice of the Mavericks.  The Western Pennsylvania native brings a wealth of broadcasting experience to the team in a range of sports, including hockey, baseball, lacrosse, and boxing. Most recently, Gero spent over 15 years as the broadcast voice of the Men’s and Women’s hockey and lacrosse teams at Robert Morris University. During the summer months, Gero resides in Fairbanks, AK where he is the Voice of the Alaska Goldpanners baseball team.  In addition to his broadcasting experience, Gero has also worked in other areas of sports media including stints as a reporter, feature writer, and stringer for Pittsburgh professional sports and Fightnews.com.
