Columbus Mavericks goaltender, and Pickerington, OH native, Tyler Dorion was recently named the USPHL Premier Midwest Goaltender of the Week. Tyler made an outstanding USPHL Premier debut, stopping 56 of 58 shots faced during the course of the Mavericks’ overtime loss to the Division-leading Pittsburgh Vengeance, who are also third in the entire Premier league.

Special mention goes out to Dorion’s creasemate Hayden Hoover, who stopped 73 of 80 shots he faced in the Mavericks’ first game against the Vengeance.

“[Our goaltenders] combined to make a staggering 130 saves this weekend as the Mavs were able to steal a road point from the first place Vengeance,” said Mavericks co-owner Joey Recktenwald. “Both goalies repeatedly made unbelievable saves and kept the Mavs within striking distance.”
